Winter Art & Music - Grrls Rock AGE 9-12

Service Description

*Transportation from River Forest is available. Students will be picked up at the bell at Willard and then at 3:15 at Roosevelt and taken to our studio. Parents will be responsible for pick up from our studio at 5:30pm. This class is held at our art house, Slowfire Grove. Slowfire Grove has 3 floors dedicated to art! SG has a music studio, ceramics studios, and drawing/painting spaces. Each 2 Hour Class Includes: 1 Hour rock band class with Mr Shane of Penny Lane Music. Focus will be on the current queens of pop music (Olivia, Taylor, Billie, etc). * no previous music experience required. Students will have the opportunity to explore new instruments, such as the drums, bass, guitar, and keyboard, as well as work on vocals. 1 Hour art class focusing on painting, drawing, and ceramics led by the amazing Slowfire Art teachers. Students will grow their skills through new experiences with multiple mediums, and exposure to art. Students who participate in both the Winter and Spring session will have a showcase at the end of May/beginning of June. Exact date pending. A Credit Card Authorization form will be sent to you upon completion of registration. 3:30pm-5:30pm 629 S. Grove Ave. We are a tech free zone and ask that students do not bring handheld gaming devices and any cell phones should be tucked away. With a low Student/Teacher ratio, comprised of dedicated teachers and professors, the student class size is perfect to advance skillsets, while also creating a safe learning environment. While we teach excellent technique and form, we also aim to empower students in their authentic voice/artistry. Our teaching styles are inclusive and welcoming. We are an LGBTQ+ friendly space. Cancellations 14 days or less prior to the start of the class will not be refunded. *A $20 late fee will be charged if a student is picked up more than 15min late
