WEEK 2 June 17 MID Camp Update

SCROLL DOWN TO SEE ALL THE IMAGES !

Squishy, Slimy Art Campers: Our campers have been busy making ceramic pressed plates with bubbled underglaze, felt collages, papier mache cakes a la Wayne Thibaud and model magic tiny scenery! Campers are also having a great time playing games, going to the park, and going on Field Trips to the Elmhurst History Museum.

Pop/Punk Art and Music Campers: Our campers have been having an amazing week learning new songs with Mr Shane, such as Uptown Funk. Campers are exposed to all kinds of instruments and they are doing awesome learning guitar, piano, drums, and vocals. With Ms. Metzli, students are making mini sculptural stages with model magic, lights, and paint. They are also making "Eye of the Tiger" paintings (see below). In Ceramics with Ms. Alice, campers have been making jars, mugs, and our oldest group, Group C, has spent the last two days wheel throwing. By request, they will also throw on the wheel today, as that has proven to be a hit!

Real or Cake Campers: Ms Kristi has led the way in teaching students how to bake cakes, layer, cut, ice and do decorative techniques. They made extra large HAMBURGER cakes (see below). I am so excited to see what they make next!

Wheel Throwing Campers: It has been awesome to see so many returning campers this week from last week. They are having a blast with Mr Tyler and Ms Lauren, working on their wheel skills, handbuilding and glazing.

Afternoon Only and The Learning Specialist Campers: Campers, with Ms. Jeny and Ms. Joss, have had a great time this week so far decorating their sketchbooks, making butterfly paintings, and Monet inspired artwork with various mediums such as tempura paint, markers, crayons, and colored pencils. Campers are also loving creating structures out of large blocks and legos! We hope it is not so hot that we can have more park time.
