Tate, age 13, loves incorporating Studio Ghibli into their ceramic work! They had thrown a vessel on the wheel with Ms. Noelle and came up with the idea of altering the cylinder and adding handbuilt elements. Tate made a pocket that peeks inside their cup with a scene from My Neighbor Totoro. They are very talented and have an eye for detail, too, which you can see in all of their hand painting, as well.
Tate has been a Slowfire student for 2 years now and has worked with a variety of teachers. Tate is always willing to try something new and develop their skillsets. We are so excited to see what they come up with next!
