Our young artists have been working hard in our after school art club learning about different artists and their methods of art making! Some of the artists that we have been studying include Andy Warhol and Vincent Van Gogh! As well as working on building our clay skills every month with a ceramics project.
A few weeks ago we looked at Andy Warhol's pop art prints and made our own versions using perler beads. We made sure to choose colors that would stand out against their vibrant backgrounds.
When studying Vincent Van Gogh, we looked at his sunflowers painting as inspiration to make our own flowers out of felt and attached to new and creative vases!
Every month we work on a new ceramics project as a way to introduce new clay skills and techniques for our young artists. For the month of October we worked on making lanterns using slabs of clay!
