“GivingTuesday is a movement that unleashes the power of radical generosity around the world” - GivingTuesday.org, 2023

GivingTuesday was established in 2012 to encourage the best of all people to do good. November 28th became its dedicated day to celebrate the collective encouragement of radical generosity. Radical generosity refers to the capacity to understand that the intolerability of someone's suffering is equal to our own suffering. To achieve collective growth and prosperity, we must reimagine a world built on generosity and humanity (GivingTuesday.org, 2023).

Year-round, Slowfire is dedicated to giving through our 501(c)(3) non-profit, the SlowFire Arts Foundation. Our mission is to nurture creativity and inclusivity through quality arts education.

In the first quarter of 2023, Slowfire Arts Foundation awarded 27 scholarships to students needing free or reduced art education.

Through this foundation, we offer scholarships to art classes for senior citizens in need. We offer weekly free art classes at the Oak Park and River Forest Township. Because art has no age limit, and the ability to create and experience creative healing and learning should be available to everyone.

Celebrate this GivingTuesday by helping us lower barriers to the arts and make a difference by donating to our foundation today!
